"Disability, inability, and neurodivergence aired in eruptions of the irregular, the dysfunctional, the odious and the anomalous." Created in 2015, The Institute of Real Art was a site of para-critical engagement, inspired by the artist's personal experiences of disability, marginalisation and professional and educational under-achievement. Through a range of trans-fictional characters, The Institute of Real Art published crippled views on contemporary art and culture. Self-designated members, both real and fictitious, opened routes to creative autonomy through a questioning of the prerequisites of artistic attainment.
